‘Mobile pornographer’ nabbed on city street

A MAN was arrested on Monday after allegedly sending pornographic videos to customer’s mobile phones. The police detained the 32-year-old suspect after apprehending him on apavement in the capital’s Sen Sok district. Police say they found thousands of pornographic videos on his computer. The suspect is in jail awaiting trial.

Chicken-wing taxi runs afoul of the law

A TAXI driver was arrested on Tuesday following a high-speed chase by police through the capital’s Meanchey district, following suspicions he was transporting contraband. The taxi was eventually stopped and police said they found one tonne of chicken wings illegally imported from Thailand in it. Police said they confiscated the wings and incinerated them. The taxi driver was fined. Police are still searching for the owner of the contraband.

‘Drunks’ knocked out in head-on collision

A HEAD-ON collision between two motorcycles on Monday in the capital’s Toul Kork district sent two men to hospital with serious injuries. Police said both were both drunk when they crashed into each other, and that the collision knocked them out. Both men were rushed to hospital. Police have impounded the motorbikes pending further investigation.

Knife fight leaves wife dead in Siem Reap

A MAN stabbed his wife to death after a quarrel on Tuesday in Siem Reap province’s Siem Reap district. Police said the 43-year-old husband was drunk at the time and that there was a history of domestic violence in their home. They said the couple was arguing and then began cursing each other before each picked up a knife and rushed at the other. Both were hospitalised after sustaining stab wounds, but the wife, 43, died.

Pair charged over theft of friend’s motorbike

TWO men were arrested for allegedly stealing a motorbike from their friend in capital’s Meanchey district on Monday. The motorbike’s 20-year-old owner said he had known the pair for just one month. They had invited him to go drinking then asked to borrow the motorbike to pick up another friend to join them, the motorbike owner said. Several hours after they failed to return, the victim filed a complaint at a police station. Police arrested the two suspects at their home.
