Riverside stroll among friends turns violent
Three men were arrested for allegedly assaulting a friend on Monday in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district. Police said the four friends were walking near the riverside, when the victim started flirting with one of their girlfriends. The boyfriend became angry and beat him up, while the two other friends joined in. The victim was seriously injured and taken to the hospital, while the three men were sent to the police station to await further investigation.

Two men arrested in yama drug bust
A 25-YEAR-OLD and a 26-year-old were arrested for drug dealing on Saturday in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district. Two packages of yama and an undisclosed amount of money were allegedly found on the men after their arrest. Police said the two men had confessed to dealing drugs and are now awaiting trial.

Three seriously injured in a head-on collision
THREE men were injured on Saturday night after a Lexus collided head-on with a motorbike in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district. An eyewitness at the scene reported that the Lexus swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed into the motorbike that was traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the Lexus fled the scene, but was chased down and apprehended by police. The victims were sent to the hospital. Both vehicles are being stored at the police station, pending a trial.

Neighbours help nab suspected drug dealer
POLICE confiscated 25 packages of drugs on Monday in a bust that resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork district. Police said they were tipped off to the man’s whereabouts after neighbours on the block complained about his drug dealing. The man allegedly confessed to selling drugs and is now awaiting trial.

Drunk motorbike driver crashes into car
A TRAFFIC accident caused the injury of two men on Friday in Kampong Chhnang’s Kampong Chhnang district. Police said that at about 10:30am, a 19-year-old and his friend crashed their motorbike into the back of a car ahead of them that was slowing down. The victims were sent to the hospital and police said they were shocked by the amount of alcohol found in the driver’s system. The two vehicles were sent to the police station to await further investigation.
