Dec. 13: Khan Toul Kok's Criminal Investigation Police arrests John Bunnarith,

25, for involvement in the burglary of a house on Uknha Sou road, Sangkat Tuk Laak

II, Khan Toul Kok, Phnom penh.

Dec. 14: Srin Seng, 28, is robbed of his c100 motorcycle by three armed

offenders riding on a motorcycle at 11:30 a.m. in Sangkat Tuol Toumpoung, Phnom Penh.

Dec. 15: The Air Force unit arrests Unn Sochinda, 25, a policeman working

at Khan Toul Kok's Criminial Investigation unit in Phnom Penh. He was acccused of

motorcycle theft.

Dec. 15: Russei Keo district police arrests Ou On, 32, accused of the use

chloroform to rob motorcycles.

Dec. 15: Two offenders with two K59s, riding on motorcycles, rob Khmer-American

national Ngin Phat, 39, of his white Hilux car[ ONG 1380] at 11:30 p.m. at the corner

of streets 105 and Sivutha, Phnom Penh.

Dec. 17: Police Lt. Ouk Roeun, 38, deputy chief of Sangkat Toul Svay Prey's

Police Office, is shot and killed at 11 a.m. near the corner of streets 199 and Mao

Tse-tung, Phnom Penh by three armed offenders, while he is phoning his HQ about the

three's attempt to rob a c100 motorcycle. The thieves escaped safely with the stolen

vehicle.

Dec. 17: Mao Sophea, 19, is robbed of her c100 motorcycle by three armed

offenders at 1:00 p.m. on street 310 in Sangkat Beong Keng Kang I, Phnom Penh. Police

says this and the above robbery is conducted by the same gang who are very skilful

at using guns.

Dec. 18: Dangko district's police finds in a brook in Trapeng Thloeng village,

Chom Chao commune, Dangko district, Phnom Penh the body of Chea Chuon, 55, who was

suspicously murdered to get his motorbike the day before.

Dec. 18: Phnom Penh criminal investigation police, in cooperation with

Pursat police, arrests Oum Sopaon, 31, in Khan Toul kok, Phnom Penh. The man and

his partner used a K59 and robbed Nouv Say, 42, of his CAMRY car in Thnoth Choum

commune, Krako district, Pursat.

Dec. 18: Patrol police in Kralanh district, Siem Reap, arrests Khieng Sokha,

22, and Muong Chhoeun, 27, who shot and injured Ki Hav the day before to rob his

c100 motorcycle in Stung Thmei village, Siem Reap town.

Dec. 18: City investigation police arrest two Vietnamese nationals, accused

of robbery cases, at 6 p.m. in Phnom Penh.

Dec. 19: Mak Onn, 31, is shot and wounded, while his motorcycle robbed

by two offenders carrying a K59 at 5:30 a.m. in Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Phnom Penh.

Dec. 19: An UNTACer's Toyota Hilux [Untac 2034] is stolen at 11:45 a.m.

at the Psar Thmei market, Phnom Penh.

Dec. 19: Fishermen find the body of Lt. Chan Neang floating at Koh Khieu

island in Kien Svay district, Kandal. On Dec. 15, Three soldiers, including Lt. Neang,

were trying to stop three thieves who were taking a robbed motorcycle on a ferry

boat across the river to Phnom Penh. Lt. Neang seized one of the robbers from behind,

while the latter was pointing a K54 at Lt. Neang's friend Lt. Kom Sary. Lt. Neang

and the robber fell into the water when the boat was already 15 metres away from

the bank. Lt. Neang thus drowned, but the robber managed to swim to the bank. The

thief did not surrender and fired two shots at the police, and was immediately killed

by the police.

Dec. 21: Four offenders with a K59, riding on two motorcycles, rob Si Cheng,

19, of her c100 motorcycle at 1:00 p.m. in front of Phnom Daun Penh High School,

Phnom Penh.

Dec. 22: Sok Vanda, 21, is robbed of his c100 motorcycle by three men,

carrying a K54, on a JR motorcycle in Sangkat Toul Svay Prey II, Phnom Penh.

Dec. 23: Ngan Sophann,30, is shot and killed by an unknown gang carrying

a K59, while he is shouting for help against the robbery of his motorcycle at 4:20

a.m. near Tonle Bassac theater in Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Phnom Penh. The gang escaped

empty-handed.

Dec. 24: Police Maj. Mouth Than and Lt. Hi Hoa,both working at the Ministry

of Interior, are shot and killed by Wat Tikea, 39, carrying a AK rifle at 4:00 a.m.

on street 70, Sangkat Sras Chak, Phnom Penh. Tikea's brother, Wat Soty, 27, has a

quarrel with the police and is shot and seriuosly wounded. Tikea comes out of the

house and takes revenge on the two. His injured brother dies at the hospital. Tikea

and his wife, a brothel madam, are arrested.

Dec. 26: A gang of about eight armed men rob a Toyota Land Cruiser [ OI

010], belonging to Concern, at 4: 00 a.m. at its office on street 71, Sangkat Beong

Keng Kang I, Phnom Penh when the guards, Vong Poch and Keth Rithy, both in late twenties,

are tied up at gunpoints and locked in a room. The thieves remove the lock at the

steering wheel and drive away. This is the third Toyota Land Cruiser to be robbed

and stolen from Concern since Sept.
