Pooch poacher nabbed, headed for the pound

Prosecution approaches for a pooch poacher, after the farmer, 43, was arrested in Prey Veng province’s Ba Phnom district on a warrant filed more than a year ago.

The suspect travelled from Kampong Cham to Prey Veng in 2013 to steal dogs to sell, police said. An owner of one of the dogs filed a police complaint, and an arrest warrant was issued in December 2013.

When police caught up with him Tuesday, he was unaware of the warrant, but confessed to the allegation. RASMEI KAMPUCHEA
