Poor sportsmanship met with mob justice

A group of men in Battambang town on Sunday refused to play nice during a casual football match that left a man badly beaten.

According to police, the victim kicked the foot of another player during the game and refused to apologise, inciting the suspect to rage.

After the match, the suspect called on three friends who allegedly helped him to beat the victim with rocks, injuring his head and back.

The man was sent to hospital while the four suspects fled the scene.
