Preemptive mob justice doled out in Sen Sok

An angry mob descended on a 20-year-old homeless man in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district and badly beat him because he was suspected of being a thief.

Police said the unemployed man had walked into a man’s house, appearing to be looking for something.

The homeowner shouted “thief!”, which triggered the public onslaught.

Police arrived later and sent the man to the hospital, planning to interrogate him when he recovers.
