Prey Veng ambush puts local man in hospital

Prey Veng ambush puts local man in hospital

A family is demanding answers in Prey Veng’s Pea Reang district after a seemingly unprovoked attack on the local health centre boss.

Police say the 46-year-old was travelling with his wife, child and young nephew when a group of five men on two motos blocked their path.

Demanding to know their business, the man was greeted with a rock from the slingshot of one of the thugs, followed by a slash with another’s knife.

Police are now trying to track down the assailants via a license number memorised by the quick-thinking nephew.
