Rent-a-cop puts wood to passerby, gets arrested

A security guard could get the shaft after allegedly beating a man with a stick in Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district last Monday.

The man, 27, was riding his moto when the guard, 20, allegedly chased him with a stick.

The guard caught up with the man, hit him on the head and destroyed his bike, police said.

The suspect escaped to a nearby factory but was later arrested by police, who are still seeking a motive. NOKORWAT
