Tempestuous home life may have cost him $1,000 on Tuesday night. Police said the man was the victim of a home invasion and accosted by three masked suspects.

The shouting that followed might normally have roused suspicions next door, but unfortunately for our victim, loud squabbles with his wife had become a nightly feature of the neighbourhood and therefore no one raised an eyebrow.

The crooks made off with the cool grand along with some other belongings.
