A part-time taxi driver in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district awoke with a shock on yesterday morning to find his source of income stolen.

Police said the man, a university student by day, had parked the car in front of his house as usual and gone to bed, only to find it gone when he got up.

Police suggested the thief had likely cased the joint beforehand, and waited for the hapless cabbie to fall asleep before making his move.
