Schoolgirls arrested for hair-pulling assault

Schools can be hotbeds of backbiting, gossip and intrigue – and that’s just the teachers.

But it was two female students from a Phnom Penh school who were arrested on Monday, having travelled by motorbike with five other girls to another high school in the city’s Por Sen Chey district, where they allegedly hit a girl studying there, pulled her hair and dragged her along the ground.

Police managed to nab only two of the assailants, five of whom fled the scene.
