An overzealous hotel security guard was arrested for injuring a taxi driver who was trying to offload passengers at a hotel in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district on Saturday, police say.

The taxi driver kept driving after the security guard, 29, refused him entry, and was subsequently pulled out of the van and punched and slapped by the guard.

The guard confessed, saying he acted on his manager’s orders to ban taxis from coming to the hotel because they bothered guests. Police are still deciding if the guard should be sent to court. Koh Santepheap
