Festivities turned sour for a couple returning from a wedding in Kratie town on Saturday after they were accosted by four knife-wielding thieves.

The pair was on their way home on a motorbike and stopped for a rest when they were allegedly set upon by the men.

They were stripped of their phone and cash, but the suspects were spooked by passing traffic and fled.

Luckily, nearby police soon managed to chase the men down, and all four were sent to court.
