Stars fail to align for looting treasure hunter

A thief in Kampong Cham must have thought it was his lucky day on Saturday when he spotted a laptop and camera inside an empty car, but he found out too late the goods weren’t up for grabs.

To get at the loot, the 32-year-old suspect smashed the window of the empty car, which was parked in front of a local market, police said.

But with market security guards on the lookout, a clean getaway was impossible. Police quickly nabbed the thief, leaving him with no choice but to confess. KOH SANTEPHEAP
