Steal lands layabout a new set of wheels

Conspicuous consumption led to an alleged thief’s arrest in Takeo’s Samrong district yesterday.

Police say a local resident had reported more than 10 million riel (about $2,500) dollars stolen from his home on Thursday.

After snooping around, police noticed that a local man had just purchased a $1,050 motorcycle – despite not having a job.

The local layabout folded under questioning, admitting to stealing the money to buy the bike and spending the rest on beers for his friends.
