Sticks and stones may – ow! Quick, into the river!

A pleasant idyll along the river in Kandal’s Takhmao town ended with a pair of lovers jumping into the water to avoid a hail of projectiles.

Police said the two were canoodling riverside when a group of five men began hurling stones at them. Both victims sustained minor head injuries before taking the plunge just ahead of the arrival of police.

Two of the suspects involved managed to escape, but police arrested three, saying one had been spurned by the woman involved. Kampuchea Thmey
