A poorly thought-out scheme ended with a thief’s arrest in Kampong Cham’s Memot district on Monday.

Police said the 30-year-old was loitering in a market when he noticed a phone repairer had stepped away from his stall.

When a prospective customer walked up, the suspect simply got behind the counter, pretended to examine her phone, and then bolted.

He didn’t make it far before market security grabbed him.
