Suspect takes meaning of ‘plea deal’ very literally

A burglary suspect attempted to plead his way out of court on Friday by promising Banteay Meanchey military police that he would never commit a crime again. No such luck.

The man was apprehended in Poipet on Friday and connected to the robbery of a television, VCR and gas container in a break-in last Wednesday.

The suspect confessed, adding that he committed the crime because he was broke and had already sold the VCR. Rasmei Kampuchea
