Teacher learns a lesson in trust the hard way

A 42-year-old teacher in Kandal province’s Khsach Kandal district might have done well to heed the old saying “neither a borrower nor a lender be”, after he lent his up-market motorbike to a friend who claimed he needed it to get his kid’s bicycle repaired.

Instead, the ceiling installer drove the Honda Dream to Phnom Penh where he pawned it for a measly $200, which he promptly spent. Police called in the alleged thief on Sunday, and are preparing legal action.
