Thief makes a meal out of a lunchtime robbery

A thief's attempt to extort his victim ended with him behind bars in Kampong Cham province on Tuesday.

The perp had lunch with a woman, who left her bag on the table when she went to the bathroom.

When she came back, the bag was missing a $100 note, 2 million riel and an ID card.

When she called the man asking for her ID back, he asked her for another million riel.

The woman agreed, then quickly called the police, who nabbed the man when he came to meet her.
