Three arrested trying to steal antenna parts

Mobile phone thefts are nothing new to the Kingdom, but Kandal police busted three men who were about to raise the mobile theft racket to dizzying new heights on Saturday.

Police got a tip-off that something was afoot at Smart antenna post, and arrived to see the threesome carrying the antenna’s batteries to a waiting car.

Two escaped, leaving their friend, the car, and eight batteries in police custody.

The escapees were allegedly errant electrical engineers, while the man arrested was a taxi driver.
