A woman ostensibly visiting a money changer to convert some currency in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district was actually there to pull a snatch-and-run on Saturday.
Police said the woman waited until the shopkeeper was busy with a customer, then grabbed a stack of bills and left in a considerable hurry.
Baffled by the suspect’s haste, the shopkeeper checked her cashbox to find it short 2 million riel.
She called for help, and nearby cops were able to arrest the bawling suspect before she fled.
