Three prospective thieves were pinched by capital police on Monday.

Police first confronted the trio for riding a motorbike without a helmet, but having searched them, they were more concerned by what they did have.

The three men were packing a spanner and other tools generally used for breaking locks on motorbikes.

Under questioning, the men admitted the materials were used for robberies, but hoped for leniency after claiming they hadn’t committed any crimes recently.
