Truckers give way to villagers’ dust protest

These villagers had enough. About 200 residents of Prey Sar commune in Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district on Monday blocked the area’s 30 Meter Road.

The locals said that too many trucks pass daily over the unpaved route, blowing dirt in their faces and harming their health.

The blockade lasted until noon, when truckers belonging to an unknown company signed a written agreement to water the road down three times per day.
