Unwanted house guest arrested despite excuse

A man was arrested in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork district yesterday after his explanation as to why he was caught sneaking into a stranger’s house didn’t wash with either the owner or the police.

The man claimed he was escaping a threatening gang, but the house owner – who suspected his involvement in a prior burglary – didn’t buy it, and promptly called the cops.

The uninvited house guest is now being questioned by Tuol Kork police.
