Vendors, passersby unite in spirit of mob violence

Another day, another snatch-and-grab at a Phnom Penh market.

This time the suspect, 30, allegedly made off with a gold necklace while a vendor’s back was turned and the shop was full of customers.

Market security, however, rushed to the rescue, blocking off his exits.

As per usual, the mob followed close behind, with other market sellers joining in on the perfunctory beating.

The suspect was sent to hospital, then to court.
