Vigilante justice spoils bag snatchers’ nabbing

A couple of alleged bag snatchers were rescued by police after bystanders beat them to within an inch of their lives in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district on Sunday.

Police said the men had grabbed a young woman’s bag as she crossed the street, only to be chased down by other motorists.

The crowd meted out justice in the form of a brutal beating before cops arrived and broke up the fun. The men were sent to hospital before being sent on to court. KAMPUCHEA THMEY
