Eagle-eyed market vendors prevented the potential spread of hundreds of dollars in fake currency in Phnom Penh’s Por Sen Chey district on Sunday.
Police said a woman had sought to pay with a counterfeit $100 bill at a market stall.
The vendor, however, wasn’t born yesterday, and called on other vendors to detain the suspect upon realising the bill was fake.
Police arrived on the scene, found seven more fake C-notes in the woman’s purse and sent the suspect to court.
