Young Jean Valjean educated by police

A 13-year-old boy landed in temporary police custody yesterday afternoon in Por Sen Chey district after he cut the protective wires away from a window in a VIP’s residence.

Police say that the boy, who comes from a poor family, wanted to exchange the wires for some rice to support his family.

When police arrived and arrested the youth, however, he learned that the house belonged to an “excellency”. Police educated the boy and let him return to his family.
