Young knife beats old sword in Pursat duel

A showdown of blades in Veal Veng district in Pursat province resulted in one injury and one arrest on Monday.

The fighting farmers, aged 36 and 41, were drinking and playing cards before the incident.

Police think that losing lots of money inflamed the men’s tempers.

The argument escalated until the younger man grabbed a long knife and the older man grabbed a sword.

Youth prevailed and the swordsman was sent to a local hospital. The knife-wielder was arrested on the same day.
