ICON Building on south Norodom offers easy full-service set-up for new arrivals

The 1,766 square metre space on the 5th floor of Icon Professional Building has views overlooking the Tonle Basaac and the Mekong rivers.

Tucked in between Japanese and Malaysian embassies on South Norodom, the Icon Professional Building offers the largest single office space available in Phnom Penh – 1,766 square metres on the 5th floor, with views overlooking the Tonle Basaac and the Mekong rivers.

“This is a one stop shop, and the building is unique in its size and design.  Nobody else can get the same amount of people on a floor as we can,” said Ben Brett, the Icon Professional Building’s general manager.

“As office buildings go we definitely have the best location with easy secure access and the most flexible and largest single spacein any office building in Phnom Penh.”

The building opened in October 2009, and now has a number of tenants including CIMB Bank, German pharmaceutical giant Bayer, the Bank of India, Mega life sciences, Liberty Mining, Cambodia’s Ministry of the Interior, LCH mobile distributors of Samsung phones and Japanese IT Service CompanyForval.

“We have a good mix of tenants and we can provide the whole package, quickly and you can do your business licensing while you’re here.  If you are new to the country, we can book your flight tickets, your hotels, your cars, and you can use this as your registered office. Similarly, we can custom design any floor space to suit whatever anybody needs. It can be any color, layout, it is a blank canvasand we have all the facilities you need to succeed under one roof.”

Brett says one of the primary advantages of the IconBulding, located at 216 Norodom Blvd, is the ease of access because there’s no barrier running down the middle of south Norodom, make left turns easy.

“Because there are no barriers in the center of the road, you can turn easily and we have a big pull-off and drop off place and a car park with 24-hour access.  Every tenant gets their own building access card and parking spaces at no extra cost,” Brett said.

From office spaces as small as 40 square metres, up to a full floor, the Icon Professional building is looking to attract newcomers who want to start business in Phnom Penh quickly and easily.

“This is a one-stop shop.  I think we are the only building that has temporary serviced offices. You could move in tomorrow and start work immediately on flexible lease terms. These are furnished, connected and ready for occupancy,” Brett said.

Executive suites with work spaces and private offices are available to rent from $8 per hour and a brand new conference room available for $100 per hour.

“We go from like 40 square metres up to a full floor,” Brett said. ”You can have short or long term we are flexible and filling up fast.”

Brett said the office space price is competitive, starting at $10 per square metre.

The building also has a business services company called the AMT group, which offers a range of back-up services and also has a trading armso clients can acquire and import of any materials from China.

Also on the premises is a travel agency and the icon café which offers juices, coffees, snacks along with Asian and western dishes for breakfast lunch and dinner. The principal owners are Khmer couple Darryl and KannyEang, with other investors. Another building, very similar in design to the Icon Professional building, houses the new Zaman University in Tuol Kork – and is also owned by the same family.

“Anybody that comes here, they become part of the family,” Brett said.

“We can help our tenants in many ways and we can consult for them to help them get their licenses from the ministries, source products, materials, land for development and investment opportunities in pretty much every sector.”

“We are here to support our tenants and companies looking to enter the market here and offer them the most productive atmosphere to support their growth in Cambodia.  The only way a country can develop is by the private sector and we aim to assist as much as we can when we welcome people to the Icon family,” Brett said.
