She loves only gold … and likely diamonds

A notorious jewellery thief in Tbong Khmum’s O’reang-ou district was arrested Tuesday night while doing what she does best.

Villagers had often complained to police about the 25-year-old woman, who was known to work the crowds at community gatherings.

This time, at a concert at a local pagoda, the suspect allegedly used a pair of scissors to cut a gold necklace from off a woman’s neck.

Responding to the woman’s screams, police, who had been hoping for just such a break, caught the alleged thief as she tried to escape. NOKORWAT
