VIENTIANE – The 25th Southeast Asian Games officially opened Wednesday in Vientiane with a lavish ceremony at the brand new 20,000-seat National Stadium. Athletes from the 11 nations competing paraded around the track waving flags before Laos President Choummaly Sayasone declared the Games open, accompanied by a burst of fireworks.
