Nearly six months after Singapore hosted the Sea Games to mark its 50th anniversary of Independence, the iconic Indoor Stadium witnessed an elaborate and well orchestrated opening ceremony for the 8th ASEAN Para Games yesterday featuring over 600 performers.
The Games, which can be streamed via the official ASEAN Para Games 2015 website, are aimed at inspiring and promoting inclusiveness while celebrating the region’s finest para athletes from 10 countries in the ASEAN fold.
Cambodia will be represented by a 30-strong squad that will take part in four of the 15 disciplines on offer.
Phat Yuy will be the first of the Cambodian contestants to compete today. He starts in the mixed singles - TPB 9 final in tenpin bowling at the Temasek Club at 3pm Cambodian time.
