ONE FC set for Jakarta return on June 14

ONE Fighting Championship yesterday announced a partnership deal with Indonesia’s top entertainment company, 7Kings Entertainment, that will see a blockbuster event held at the state-of-the-art 15,000-seater Mata Elang International Stadium in Jakarta on June 14.

The 17th fight card from Asia’s largest mixed martial arts organisation will include a flyweight clash between dynamic Brazilian striker Adriano Moraes and Japanese MMA veteran Kosuke Suzuki as the main event. In the co-feature, Indonesian cage fighting star Fransino Tirta will meet Sami Amin from Egypt.

ONE FC CEO Victor Cui said: “7Kings is synonymous with hosting world-class musical and sporting events and I am ecstatic to be working with them. Fans in Jakarta and all over the world can look forward to an unforgettable night of explosive knockouts and exciting finishes.”

Adriano ‘Black Diamond’ Moraes (10-1) joined ONE FC as one of the most touted prospects in the world and the 25-year-old demonstrated his ability by overcoming an experienced Yasuhiro Urushitani of Japan in his most recent bout on March 14.

Meanwhile, former Shooto fighter Kosuke ‘Rambo’ Suzuki (10-3-2) is looking to boost his impressive MMA record with a victory on his ONE FC debut that showcases his famed fighting flair.

Since making his professional MMA bow in 2003, Fransino Tirta has amassed an unblemished 15-0-1 record. The 33-year-old is only the second home-grown Indonesian to attain a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and his well-roundedness is legendary, having started training in 2002 in Japanese jiu-jitsu and adding wrestling, boxing, sanshou and grappling to his arsenal.

Sami Amin (4-1) will also be making his ONE FC debut this June. He has won most of his fights via TKO and looks like one of the most promising MMA talents to come out of Egypt.

Fans in Asia can catch all the action live on StarSports.

In the meantime, ONE FC: Honor & Glory will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 30. The headlining bout will see two renowned welterweights making their first appearance in the ONE FC cage – American Ben ‘Funky’ Askren (12-0) and Bakhtiyar Abbasov (11-2) of Azerbaijan.
