Thailand wrap up AFF U19 Championship title

Thailand secured their second AFF U19 Championship trophy on Wednesday after a nail-biting 5-3 penalty shootout victory over Vietnam in Yangon. Vietnam equalised almost immediately after Thailand had taken the lead on 20 minutes, and both sides failed to add to their tallies throughout the rest of the game despite the Thais being reduced to ten men on the hour mark. Earlier, three times runners-up Malaysia grabbed third spot after winning their playoff 4-2 against hosts Myanmar on penalties. Vietnam striker Nguyen Xuan Nam was the top scorer of the tournament with 8 goals.
