Gameweek 11 of the CC/PPP/CTN Fantasy League began so promisingly with a 3-3 thriller between Fulham and Arsenal. Bar a 3-2 comeback win for leaders Man United, however, there was little more in the way of fireworks from the other fixtures.

Manchester United outcast Dimitar Berbatov proved a remarkable signing for Fulham on Saturday as he cancelled out Arsenal’s efforts with a brace and an assist for 16 points.

The ace Bulgarian goal machine is rapidly rising up the scoring charts and will no doubt enjoy a strong following for weeks to come after his latest star performance.

Second most prolific in the Dream team was Man United’s supersub Javier Hernandez, who also had his hand in all three of his side’s goals. However, the Mexican “Chicarito” managed to produce both his strikes and assist in just a single half, having been kept on the bench during the first session.

Everton’s Marouane Fellaini sealed another place in the elite eleven with a lucky tally of 13 thanks to a goal, assist and three-point bonus from the match against Sunderland.

Over in the weekly prize race, top spot was grabbed by Top Vuth FC with a top total of 75 points. Siem Reap-based hotel worker Man Sereyvuth was the expert manager with the Midas touch, and he deservedly picks up the $20 phone voucher and T-shirt from sponsor Cellcard.

Sereyvuth’s squad featured the lucrative trio of Berbatov, Fellaini and Liverpool’s Luiz Suarez (nine points), all of which were transferred in especially for the week. Fellaini was handed the captain’s armband for 26 points.

With a whole host of international friendlies playing midweek, it would be wise to wait until injury news has been published before making your transfer choices.

The deadline for Gameweek 12 is the usual 6:30 on Saturday evening.

The North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal opens proceedings, while QPR versus Southampton offers an intriguing early relegation battle.
