Vietnam U-19s get a victory

VIETNAM’S under-19 team scored a confidence-boosting 2-1 win over a visiting Cambodian side in a warm-up game at the Vietnam Youth Football Centre yesterday ahead of the September 8-22 AFF Championships in Myanmar. Vietnam shot to a 2-0 first half lead before Cambodia pulled one back late in the second half.

“Though we were down 2-0, every one of our players kept working hard till the end. It is a good sign,” Cambodia’s Assistant Coach Keo Kosal told the Post in an email.

The teams play another friendly at the same venue today.
