Chelsea’s clash with Bayern Munich in the European Super Cup in a week’s time caused the extra fixture against Aston Villa to be stuffed into Gameweek 1 of the Cellcard Fantasy League, yielding some bloated totals for football starved managers.

Top of the menu was Villa’s sublime Belgian striker Christian Benteke with an exemplary 18 points.

The 22-year-old, whose family fled the brutal Mobutu regime in the Republic of the Congo when he was young, was the star player for his team in both of their games, hitting a brace past Arsenal and the equaliser at Chelsea. He could even afford to drop a point in each game for a yellow card and yet still remain well clear of his fellow Dream team members.

Chelsea’s controversial match winner Branislav Ivanovic was the best of three Blues in the elite eleven on 15 points, while Liverpool’s summer singing, Belgian keeper Simon Mignolet, picked up a remarkable 15 points thanks to his penalty save and clean sheet performance against Stoke.

To win the first gameweek is no mean feat, and Michael Seng with his side The Win FC on a massive 118 points did so with gusto, fielding all three of the above mentioned players including Benteke as captain.

Michael, who won gameweek 36 last season when he went by the name Nicolas, was comfortably ahead of nearest rival David Flack with Flack Attack on 110 points, and collects the weekly prize of a $20 phone voucher and T-shirt from sponsors Cellcard.

Gameweek 2 has a transfer deadline set at the usual 5:30pm Cambodian time tomorrow, with the blockbuster clash of Manchester United against Chelsea closing out affairs on Monday night.

Cellcard are offering a new way to win this season via their official facebook fanpage (www.facebook.com/Cellcard.Fantasy).

Seng Man was the lucky winner of the first $10 phone voucher prize after being drawn out of a list of people who correctly predicted that Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud would score first in their game with Villa.
