Thieves steal bike and ruin mood for couple

A romantic idyll saw real life violently intrude on Tuesday when a couple was scooter-jacked by four thugs.

Police said the duo were headed to a guesthouse on a quiet street when the foursome pulled alongside and produced a gun.

Perhaps driven by a sense of machismo, the boyfriend attempted to outrun the thieves before a gunshot brought him back to his senses and caused him to relinquish the bike.

All four wore helmets, so police are starting on the back foot. KOH SANTEPHEAP
