Interview: Loung Ung, author of First They Killed My Father

The story of Loung Ung and her family’s suffering under the Khmer Rouge became known around the world with the success of her autobiographical book, First They Killed My Father.

Now her childhood has been immortalised in a film of the same name, which Ung co-wrote with her longtime friend, Hollywood star Angelina Jolie.

Following its world premiere in Siem Reap last Saturday, the film was screened in Phnom Penh on Tuesday, and will be shown in Battambang today.

The Post's Alessandro Marazzi Sassoon and Keo Ratana sat down with Ung in Siem Reap to discuss what First They Killed My Father's legacy could be. Watch the video above to hear more.
