Agriculture minister Dith Tina met with a visiting delegation from the Czech foreign ministry on May 11, where he highlighted the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on agricultural trade cooperation.

Tina requested that the Czech side examine the possibility of investing in the Kingdom for the purpose of exporting Cambodian agricultural products such as aquaculture goods to Czech markets.

He also suggested that the Czech government send specialists to Cambodia, or offer short training or experience exchange programmes in order to strengthen the skills of the Kingdom’s agriculture officials and contribute to the development of the sector.

Tina said that in response to global food security and safety issues, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is seeking investment partners to help boost agricultural exports.

As per its policy, the ministry will focus on value-added agricultural products. It encourages the production of high quality, value-added products that are economically efficient and eco-friendly.
