Lao Motor Show to display latest automotive offerings

THE Vientiane Motor Show 2019 at Lao-ITECC from February 22 to March 2 will feature a wide variety of models from leading automakers ready to tempt car buyers.

Details of the Vientiane Motor Show were revealed during a press conference on Tuesday which was attended by Department of Trade Promotion director-general Xaysomphet Norasingh and main sponsors from Maruhan Japan Bank Lao, Dhipaya Insurance Laos Company Limited and Lao-ITECC.

The motor show is being co-organised by the Department of Trade Promotion under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and PP Entertainment and Event Organiser Company.

“The Vientiane Motor Show is a significant event for the domestic automotive industry with more than 20 automobile manufacturers from home and abroad showcasing their new products and advanced technologies and selling vehicles at discounted prices,” said PP Entertainment and Event Organiser Company director Phonechan Phaengsuvanh.

Vehicles on display will include motorbikes, trucks, luxury cars and car accessories.

The show was in response to the needs of consumers as well as car companies and accessory shops. More importantly, it would also serve to boost competition in the automotive industry, further open up the auto market and raise the profile of Laos on the international motoring stage, he said.

“It is also Visit Laos-China Year 2019 so we have invited some Chinese automobile manufacturers to take part,” Phonechan added.

He noted that the organisers successfully held the Vientiane motor expo last year and this year’s motor show expects to attract 300,000 visitors and sell 300 vehicles during its eight days.

During the expo, there will be numerous promotional activities and participants who register at the entrance will have a chance to win prizes.

In addition, there will be a concert featuring performers from both Lao and neighbouring countries, a Miss Motor Show 2019 contest, and a car decoration competition. VIENTIANE TIMES/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
