Westview Cambodian International School became an official IELTS Alliance Program exam venue on Tuesday after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IELTS Cambodia Official Test Centre at IDP Education.

“We are pleased to welcome Westview Cambodian International School as an IELTS test venue through the global IELTS Alliance Program.

“This MoU reflects the growing awareness of the importance of benchmarking English language capacity for study and career advancement at leading education institutions in Cambodia.

“We look forward to working together with Westview Cambodian International School to grow the number of students taking the IELTS test,” said IELTS Cambodia country director Sreng Mao.

The MoU was signed at the Westview International School in Phnom Penh.

"Having an IELTS test venue on the campus of Westview Cambodian International School has shown our school's commitment to shape our students' English proficiency to meet the requirements for international university acceptance around the globe.

"Our students will be better trained and have a greater chance of getting higher band scores in their official IELTS tests with regular courses and schedules integrated into our curriculum," said Westview Cambodian International School chairman Virak Ly.

IELTS is the world’s most popular English language test, with more than three million tests taken in the past year and over 11,000 institutions worldwide – including universities, schools, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies – recognising IELTS as a benchmark of English language capacity.

IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English. The IELTS Cambodia Official Test Centre – established in 1992 by IDP:IELTS – is the longest established test centre in the Kingdom.
