The finals of the "People-to-People Exchange Cup Amateur Badminton Competition," organised by TNAOT News, took place from July 6-7. After intense competition, the winners of the first, second and third prizes in each category were determined.
The award and closing ceremonies were held at the Norea Badminton Club in Phnom Penh on July 7, officially marking the successful conclusion of the event.
The tournament received substantial support from many departments and institutions, including the Ministry of Information, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and the Cambodian Badminton Federation.
TNAOT general manager Han Li gave a speech in which she reviewed the many wonderful moments of the competition and praised the excellent performance of the players. She remarked that, in the eyes of everyone, all participants were champions.
Li stated that the event served not only as a platform for sports competition but also as an important bridge for cultural exchanges between China and Cambodia.
She expressed her hope that the tournament would enhance the friendship between the two peoples and promote integration, anticipating that the event would become a new starting point for people-to-people exchange between the two countries, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation and friendship.
Li also mentioned that the success of the event was made possible by the support of numerous sponsors. Looking back on the two days of intense competition, the players demonstrated their exceptional skills and tenacious fighting spirit. The finals were both passionate and thrilling. After two days of fierce face-offs, the winners for women's singles, women's doubles, men's singles, men's doubles, mixed doubles, the top three invitational groups and the outstanding awards have been determined.
Badminton is not just a sport; it is also a bridge connecting different cultures. Coinciding with the "China-Cambodia Year of People-to-People Exchanges 2024", the competition served not only as a showcase of athletic prowess but also as an important moment for fostering cultural ties between the two countries.
