BNKC (Cambodia) Microfinance Plc organised the “Hope and Love” charity programme at Noun Ork Prey Chum Orphanage Center on September 14, as part of its effort to reach out to children in need. At the event, the bank donated rice, food and some cash to the centre that is located in Kampong Speu province. The bank’s staff participated in voluntary work, to clean up the premises and had lunch with teachers and children living in the center. This was the second consecutive year BNKC carried out its charity project and pledged to continue its charity activities in the future.
Lee Daekwang, CEO of BNKC, said his office will try to reach out to more marginalised communities in the future through the "Hope and Love" charity programme. In 2018, BNKC hosted a similar event at Chouk Va School and Joyful School. BKNC has been operating in the Kingdom for over four years and now has seven branches in Cambodia - Head Office, Angk Snuol, Chbar Mon, Tram Kak, Odongk, Battambang and Siem Reap; and there are plans to open more outlets in the future. Nov Sareth, supervisor of the Noun Ork Prey Chum Orhpanage Center, said BNKC was the first financial institution to support the children at the center and hoped BNKC's charity work will continue.
