CamConscious Tourism recently exhibited pictures of competitors for its Travel Green, Travel Local photography and creative writing competition 2019. The event was held in conjunction with CamConscious’ work to support sustainable tourism in Cambodia. The pictures will be on display at the Plantation Urban Resort and Spa in Phnom Penh until October 15.
Present at the event was British Ambassador to Cambodia Tina Redshaw, CamConscious country director Jitka Markova, and The Phnom Penh Post and Post Khmer executive editor-in-chief Joshua Purushotman who was also a judge for the event. The winning photograph was taken by Sean Channal and depicted a paddy field. The public vote winner was Adam Roberts whose picture of a Black Naped Monarch bird in a nest won hearts.
The creative writing winners were Hokseng Long who wrote a poem entitled Eco-dream: a progress in the making. The runner-up was Joshua Clayton who wrote a short story entitled A banana leaf in Cambodia. Winners received free hotel stays, vouchers, and an award certificate. photo: Alisha Redshaw
