The Festival of India was inaugurated last Tuesday evening with the performance of Ramayana (Ream Ke) by the renowned Kalakshetra Foundation troupe. Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Information Khieu Knanharith, His Royal Highness Prince Norodom Sirivudh and Ambassador of India Naveen Srivastava lit the traditional lamp to mark the opening of the festival. The scintillating performance was welcomed by an audience of dignitaries, diplomats and other international and national guests who filled the Chaktomouk Hall to its capacity.
