In an act of patriotism inspired by the proverb “Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it”, NeakOkhna Chen Zhi, Chai, Prince Holding Group chairman, donated 100 tonnes of rice, 300 cartons of instant noodle, and 1,000 cartons of drinking water worth $75,000 in total, to the President of the National Assembly, Samdech Heng Samrin, for distribution to relieve the plight of flood-hit victims.
Samdech Heng Samrin issued a letter of appreciation to Neak Okhna Chen Zhi to express his gratitude for this generous humanitarian support to the nation.
According to the information released by Cambodia National Committee for Disaster Management on October 15, 19 provinces have been affected by the flood with 25 deaths recorded.
At present, the impact of the flood has been severe and long-lasting, affecting 78,056 families, 568 schools, 110 temples, 16 hospitals, and 393,265 meters of road with 9,349 people relocated and 73,720 houses damaged.
