Wat Botum Park was front and centre as the capital set the stage for the 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (Asem 13) on March 10, designated ‘Asem Day’.
Twenty countries from Asia and 31 from Europe are to attend the meeting later this year, which will aim to arrive at multilateral solutions to issues of global concern, ranging from commerce to security.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn presided over the opening ceremony, noting that the government has proposed Strengthening Multilateralism for Shared Growth as the theme for the summit, which is slated for November. Photos Heng Chivoan
